Nine years ago while sharing my witness of faith, the logo for our ministry became a honey bee. We display it everywhere and on everything as the reminder to “be who God created you to be.”
Even in the catholic church, the meaning of the honey bee is symbol of continuously working as one community, one colony, for the greater good of their individual purpose. They give us a model by which we can selflessly do our part to be the body of Christ not for our own salvation but for the whole world.
Saint John Chrysostom said: “The bee is more honored than other animals, not because she labors, but because she labors for others.”
Just like the honey bee, we too are called to work tirelessly not just for ourselves, but to allow what we are entrusted with to turn into spiritual goodness for others to be fed.
